Jacques Kallis -- > The Prodigy!!!

Well... I actually am continuing with the post, Felicitating Greats!!! I actually completely dropped the idea of writing about cricket.. But due to the request of ma fellow friend Diamond Babu who is a die-hard, crazy fan of him and the proteas, Im now writing about Jacques Kallis, one of the best players in both forms of the game.. During ma school days, I always used to like the Proteas a lot bcoz they were, at that time the only ones who had the strength to challenge the Fucking Aussies(Whom I detest to the core!!! Dunno y...) And I was the only Proteas supporter in my group and so, would always tend to get into a lot of arguments with me fellow India supporters.. Sum of those players who really made me to admire the team were Gibbs, Kallis, Klusener and Rhodes... But since, from that list, Kallis is the only one actively in the team and also the one whom many cricket fans admire, this post is entirely dedicated to KALLIS!!!
The early Kallis that i knew of was a slow, steady and defensive batsman with an amazing knack in his bowling with great viscious swinging movement.. Mind u!! HE was one of those great swing bowlers at his early phases of Cricket... But now, he is known for his strength and stamina that he showcases in the matches that he plays.. He is now one of those pillars in the South african team and is a stalwart in his own league... Some of his memorable innings that i could remember off is the quickfire 50 that he made for a lost cause against Kiwis where he demonstarted his explosive instincts ie the usage of the longer bat... His patient 90 against india helping them to win the match... His blitzkrieg 140 against Windies at home... And lastly the 128 in the WC... in tests, some of his memorable inns include the 160 he made against NZ at home helping his team to win the 1st test... His 189 against India again for a winning cause.. .The best part of Kallis is that he unleashes the beast in him exactly when the team need him the most... Bcoz, if u look at his records, most of his centuries have been for a winning cause... He is a wicket taking bowler too.. His 6-54 against eng in tests, 5-30 against WI and 5-41 vs Pak in odi's stand testimony to the fact that he is infact one of the greatest allrounders that cricket has seen... His odi batting average of over 45 in odis in batting and an equally good bowling avg of 30 in odis and a mammoth batting avg of 56 and a bowling avg of 31 in tests shows his consistency in both forms of the game... He is one of those nightmares for many bowlers and by far the only batsman other than gibbs who has played Warne with considerable ease although he struggled initially while facing spin.. But later he overcame the difficulty and is now one of the better players of spin bowling... His powerful cover drives and elegant cuts and on drives are an absolute treat to watch... He is by far the only cricketer to score 8000runs and take 200 wickets in both forms of the game which is a rare and amazing feat indeed. Infact, Jayasuriya could achieve this in odi's only and sir garry sobers could achieve this feat only in tests. This in itself proves the prowess of this genius allrounder.
In 2005 Kallis was selected for the World XI team to play an Asian XI in a benefit match for those affected by the tsunami of 2004, along with countryman Shaun Pollock. In the same year he was awarded the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC player of the year. He was also awarded the best test player of the year award in the same year... In the 2007 WC, Kallis was the highest rungetter for the Proteas with 483 runs at an avg of above 81... Kallis is only the third player in Test history (after Sir Donald Bradman) and Mohammad Yousuf to make a century in five consecutive matches. In 2005 he set the record for the fastest half-century, as measured by balls faced, in Test cricket history, scoring 50 against Zimbabwe off only 24 balls. So, these records in itself proves the genius in him... So, indeed Kallis is one of those cricketing greats who needs to be felicitated among the various other greats...

P.S. For details on Kallis' birthday, sun sign, rasi, nakshathram, gothram, jaadhagam etc.., contact priya_3kallis CSE final yr, SSEC... Or call me... I'll giv her number... Call her or msg her and say Kallis, and u'll hear all the details that u want on Jacques Kallis' family, his biography, biodata etc... Cya with the next post... Bye 4 now...
