Raining runs in B'lore

No Sachin.. No Dhoni... No Zaheer... On any other day a few years back, I would have called it curtains for the Indian team... Even today, when India was tottering at 65-4, with in form batsmen Laxman and Jaffer falling, I thought that this was going to be a dead rubber with Pakistanis levelling the series.. But, in walked Young Yuvi!!! He, along with the Prince of Kolkata pulled of a great repair job so that India are out of that initial jitters... Some hard hitting by Yuvi and some amazingly sensible batting the veteran Sourav, saw India reach a respectable, even a match winning first innings score of 365-5 in the first day that too at a run rate of over 4 per over... Sourav notched up his 2nd century in 2 tests marking a remarkable comeback and Yuvi, coming into the side in place of Sachin, more than filled his place.. The way yuvi batted was utmostly delightful especially with those stunning cover drives and nerve wrackling pull shots... He is at his peak form of his career and one can only hope that he continues to bash these bowlers in the Australian series too down under... Yuvi hit a brilliant 169 where as Dada is still there on 125.. So, one can hope that Karthik does some justice to his batting so that he can stand a chance of playing that big series down under... Chak de India!!!
