Waiting for the Boxing day!!!

For those of you who dont know what boxing day is, it is nothing but the day after christmas is celebrated. This is most widely celebrated in Western countries and also in the countries of the Southern Peninsula. The one thing that makes this day special is the Cricketing action that takes place on this day. In countries like Australia, test matches are held each year on Boxing day. This year too, there are 2 boxing day test matches that are going to be held.
One is the much awaited Boxing day test between Australia and India... Incidentally, Australia have never lost in a Boxing day test match since 1950 and this fact makes them obvious favorites for the 1st test to be held in Melbourne Cricket Ground. The match is already a sellout and it is indeed going to be a great challenge for the Men in blue to withstand the Aussie juggernaut!! India are going in with a strong team as well and one thing is that, India is the only team to have proved to be a tough challenge for the Aussies, both at home and away. So, I really hope India atleast draw the series. But, it would be a dream come true if India defeat Australia in this series making it a great end to various illustrious careers of some amazing cricketing greats of India. Rahul Dravid is set to open the Indian innings and I think this is not a good decision by the team management. But, the positive is that Yuvraj Singh is into the side and this will be a huge advantage for the visitors. As far as the Aussies are concerned, I am sure they are not going to feel much for the absence of Shane Warne and Glen McGrath because they have got 4 lethal quickies in Shaun Tait, Mitchell Johnson, Stuart Clark spearheaded by Brett Lee. Brad Hogg is the lone spinner and I hope he musnt be quite a bother for the Indian team lest they throw the wickets away. So, definitely Aussies have got the upperhand ahead of the Boxing day test. So, lets see if the Men in Blue can provide the Knock out Punch to the Aussies in the Boxing day test.
The other test match that is also going to commence on Boxing day is the match between Proteas and the Windies. I think this test match is really going to be an eye sore for avid cricket fans because Windies are one of the most inconsistent teams now. So, apart from the home advantage that the Proteas are going to enjoy, its really going to be an uphill task for the Windies to scale the Protean peak. I expect the Proteas to complete a whitewash in this test series. Jacques Kallis, obviously holds the key for the Proteas as his form is at a new peak now.. But, one thing that has made this series a bit more interesting is the 20-20 victory over the Proteas. The way the Windies beat the Proteas was indeed quite commendable. If they continue in the same vein, they can indeed do well to upset the Proteas which seems to be highly unlikely. So, Proteas are the favorites ahead of this other boxing day test match. So, finally, the winners are going to be the ardent cricket fans like me. So, lets wait and watch the anti-climax.

Its not a bad decision to promote dravid as an opener as he have done well in the past. Both tait and mitchell would not make it to the playing 11,aus will mostly stick to mitchell
