Chak De India --> The true winners!!!

What I have witnessed in the past 5 days is simply something that no cricket fan will enjoy. Australia beat India in the 2nd test at Sydney amidst controversies. Honestly, Aussies never deserved to win. From World Champions, they can now be called as World Cheaters instead. Starting from day 1, India have been victims of some really poor decisions made by the 2 umpires Mark Benson and Steve Bucknor. I wonder why these umpires are in elite panel. Bucknor was a good umpire, say 5 years back. But, for the past 3 yrs or so, he has been constantly making bad decisions and costing many matches. I honestly feel that he should retire from umpiring, with the pair of rotten eyes that he has got. I need not tell about Benson. He has been so loyal to Australia and has been wagging his tail like a dog and I wonder what he got from them in return.

I have stated all the dismissals that was due to poor umpiring. I havent included lbw because its never conclusive.Starting with the dismissal:

* Ponting was clearly out on 17 but was given not out. He went on to score 55. Now, ponting dint walk. Benson was the umpire here and he just watched ponting. Since he dint walk, benson ruled it in favour of Ponting.

* Next, Symonds was caught behind when he was on 35 or so. Steve "THE BLIND&DEAF" Bucknor ruled it not out. That evening, Symonds shamelessly told in the press conference that he had nicked it.

* This time it was the third umpire,Oxenford. Inspite of TV replays showing clearly that Symonds was out of the crease and was clearly stumped,he gave it not out. Dont know what he was doing at that time.

* Symonds again. And Bucknor again. This time, he was stumped and his feet was on the air. But, bucknor dint even go for the 3rd umpire. So lame umpiring.

* Jaffer bowled of a no-ball. Mark benson this time, not sighting the foot. Excusable though.

* In 2nd inns, Hussey nicked the ball to Dhoni and stood his ground. Clearly out again. But, Benson said No.

* Rahul Dravid given out caught behind. This was one of the pathetic decisions. The ball neither had contacts with the pad or bat. I wonder why gilly appealed cos he very well knew that dravid hadn't nicked it. So, after all Gilly is a cheater too. Bucknor was the one who gave this out.

* Sourav ganguly given out caught at slips. Clarke dint appear to have taken the ball cleanly. So, Dada stood his ground. And, guess what, that is when I came to know that there was another umpire in the ground and his name was Ricky Ponting. Benson, instead of asking the 3rd umpire or atleast the square leg umpire, asked Ponting whther the catch was taken cleanly. Ponting said yes. And, benson gave that out.

So, that was the end of it, with clarke bowling brilliantly to clean off the tail. After all of this, I really wanted the Indians to just complain to ICC or atleast slam the Aussies for poor sportsmanship. But, instead, they have been so humble enough and havent made this an issue. Really warm applause to all the Indian players and particularly to Kumble. He has been so very calm and collective. India deserved to win this test match and truly so, according to me, they have won this test match by outclassing Aussies in all departments. Aussies how ever are way ahead of India in one department, ie cheating. I mean, no one would be able to beat Aussies in that area. They have been kings in that field. So, the World chapions prove to be World Cheaters again!! After all this, I still am proud to be a fan of India. They have been superb in this test after suffering huge defeat in Melbourne. I hope they continue to play in the same vein, irrespective of they winning or losing. Sachin, Sourav, Rahul, Kumble, Laxman and Bajji--> U were greaat!!! Chak De India-- >The true winners!!!
