Proteas in command!!
After the first test drubbing by the Windies, the Proteas did well to come back in the 2nd test at Capetown by beating them comprehensively by 7 wickets and hence stamping their authority in this series by clinching this series levelling win. Now, the 3rd test is on and on the first day on a green top, Proteas did the Windies in with the extra bounce and pace as Polloock made a decent comeback into the national team by clinching 4 wickets as Windies were bundled out for 139. The Proteas then started the demolition lead by skipper Graeme Smith who scored a quickfire century putting the Proteas on top. The Proteas were 213-1 at a whopping run rate of 4.95 per over at close of Day 1. So, they are on top in the 3rd test and are most likely to win the series 2-1.
