Ever since the exit of former England coach, Sven Goran Erikkson, the team hasnt been in the best of form. The new coach Steve McClaren did not seem to do much good to the already struggling England team. His experiments were always controversial and he had just begun to count his days as England coach when this sudden setback happened. First, David Beckham was dropped from the squad. Then, the Euro 2008 qualifiers are just about to end and England needed to draw the final match against Croatia to qualify into Euro 2008. Everyone really expected England to ease past Croatia to seal a berth for Euro 2008. But, match winner Mladen Petric had other ideas. He won the match 3-2 for Croatia and lo!!! England were disposed off from Euro 2008 with Russia joining Croatia to enter into the Euro 2008 from that group. So, Steve McClaren has already been fired from the job and England's dreams of making it big in Euro 2008 has been shattered to pieces. Poor England!!! They cant make it in Cricket.. Nor can they make it in Football.. What else??!!
