Play resumes!!!

After a long gap, we have once agagin started playing cricket. And this resumed this sunday when the the team of my college friends clashed against Boopathi's area team. I played for Boopathi's area team.. We played 3 matches and out of those 2 matches were fought pretty intensely and one match was a cake walk for us. Finally, at the end of the day, we won the series 3-0 and hpe we continue this great touch when we clash again today..

Gloomy day...

Today was one gloomy day... I could have gone to panimalar when my friends samba and mahesh called me up but I refused fearing the consequences that the absence of the 4 of us may lead to.. So, went to college today.. But I realised in the lab session itself that I was wrong.. Boring practical classes and even more tiresome theory sessions were the order of the day.. I was sleeping almost the 4 hours of the theory session.. Only thing that makes me happy today was that our boys won 1st place in adzap in panimalar, a whopping 5k.. And also our junior SPB won 3rd in banner designing.. So, hope tomorrow isnt much gloomier...

Operation success!!

The project review was held today and to my surprise, it actually went on pretty smooth.. I actually did not expect this because I expected the terror to terrify us but did not turn up... Instead there were around 5-6 lecturers of CSE dept and i think they thought that our class was a staff room because all staffs just kept on coming and going in and out of the class... We were one of the last batches to finish our reviews... And I thought we did a decent job although we were cornered by the new staff who seems to know what she is asking unlike some others... So, a gud day... And hope tomorrow isnt much different... Want to go to panimalar tomorrow but low hopes... Lets hope... Hope is life!!!

Projects...

We just cant understand what we are doing... We people are not our regular selves.. We are not we generally used to be.. If you dont believe me, chk out.. We have attended the whole week of our college around 5 times this semester which in itself is a gr8 insult.. What is even more unlike us is that, we are done with the ppt part of the Project and are ready to face the first review today.. This is like adding insult to injuries... Will we ever do what we are best in?? Lets hope we do...

The battle of the Youngsters won by India!!!

This was another India-Pakistan thriller, another World cup match and once again!!!! India beat Pakistan!!! Oh... Sorry Pakistan!! You can never beat India in World cups!!! It was gonna be a promising game at the outset and India once again did it in style!!!

I dont wanna giv u any overview on the match bcoz I am sure that no one would have missed this thriller!!! So, this post, I share some of my views on the match... After that World Cup debacle, no one really expected India to do what that they have done today!!! I really congratulate both the teams for coming this far, as they both suffered several setbacks after that World cup exit... It was heartening to see the big 3 opt out of the 20-20 World Cup and this in itself proves that India is moving forward in Cricket!!! This was one thing were Aussies disappointed!!!

Well... Lets see India's road to the finals first:


The youngsters did it for india!!!
The positives of the tournament were:
1) Yuvraj --> Absolutely showed great power and class!!! NO MERCY to any bowlers!!! Was on slog mode from the start till the end!!! That merciless murdering of the bowling of Broad formed the highlight of his sublime form in the shortest version of the game...

2) Irfan Pathan --> One of the greatest comebacks that every player would dream off... Decent bowling performances in the first few matches and finally reserved the best for the Grand Finale chipping in with 3 big wickets and eventually sealing the match.. MAN OF THE FINALS was the highlight of this man...

3) Harbhajan --> Another man making his comeback with a bang!!! Was really superb in all matches showing great variety and skill and was one of the players who scripted the famous Semifinal defeat of the Aussies!!! Come on bajji!!!

4) Joginder & Rohit, "The Sharmas" --> two of the greatest finds in this 20-20 World cup.. Showed great maturity and spirit and most importantly held on to their nerves!!! Joginder must be lauded for his "keep cool" last over bowling in both the semis and the finals!!! Rohit, a young and ambitious lad showing great prowess in batting!!! He rocked against SA and again in the finals!!!

5) RP Singh --> One word to describe his performance in this World cup "BELLIGERENT".. Superb spells in all matches that he played and most importantly spearheading the attack in the absence of Zaheer!! He is one great asset for the future!!!

6) Gambhir --> Standing tall and living upto his name!!! He was indeed GAMBHIRous against all teams and was instrumental in India getting a gud score in the finals!!! Highest scorer for India in the tournament!!!

7) Sreesanth, Uthappa, Karthik, Yousuf --> This bunch of youngsters proved their might as well... Sreesanth will be remembered for his hot performance against Aussies!!! And uthappa also provided sum amazing entertainment!!!

So, this amazing bunch of youngsters really did their part well and whats more heartening to see is that they defeated the best to become the best... They beat Aussies, Proteas, England and the Pakistanis(twice) to bring glory to the Cricket in India!!! And oh.. oh.. Guys.. Do i miss some one??? No.. I dint...

The BIGGEST positive of the series was undoubtedly MAHENDRA SINGH DHONI!!! Showed some great captaincy and kept his cool under trying circumstances and was always BANG on when it deals with getting the right decisions!!! Was as flamboyant as ever in his batting and CAPTAIN COOL through out the World cup.. So, I wish him all the best for his future as ODI captain for Team India!!!

The last over of the sensational finale!!!


And some of the winning/stunning moments in this World Cup must be:

1) Starting with that ultimate last over by Sreesanth against Pakistan in their league game when Misbah looked threatening and they got him off the last ball to pull off a stunning tie... After that a bowlout where Viru, Bajji and Uthappa hit BINGO and paved victory!!!

2) The murderous assault by Yuvraj against England... When, Yuvi was going slowly, Flintoff sledged Yuvi giving an edge to Yuvi who got really pissed off and sent the next 6 balls off Broad out of the ground!!! Flintoff and C'wood had nothing to do but to just watch!!!

3) The stunning catch by Karthik to send Smith packing and hence starting the downfall of the Proteas... That was probably the catch of the tournament!!!

4) Absolute sensational batting by Yuvi again, this time against Aussies bludgeoning Lee, Clark and Symonds out of the Park... Come on!!! Bring in mcgrath!! He would have been out of the ground too!!!

5) A great burst of fast and furious bowling by Sreesanth sent the Aussie openers' stumps cartwheeling and hence guided India to a nerve wrackling win!!

6) Stupendous batting by Gambhir and some pin point accurate bowling by Pathan and RP helped india to hold the Coveted World Cup after 24yrs...

7) The big one!!! The catch of Misbah off Joginder taken by Sreesanth which brought home the World cup!!! It wasnt a sensational catch but was a moment of Magnificence!!!

So, thats all I wanted to say as a true Indian fan!!! So, the fitting end to the inaugural 20-20 and it belonged rightly so, to the young cheetahs of India!!! Bang the Aussies in the home series too!!! CHAK DE INDIA!!!!!!!!

India wins a Humdinger!!! Kangaroo curry for Dinner!!!

Chak De india is the only phrase that is doing the rounds all over the World now!!! What with their stunning performance in the semis by whipping the hell out of the Aussies!!!

Dhoni made a brave decision to start with by electing to bat after winning the toss... This was very brave on the team's part bcoz the Aussies have been absolutely ruthless in chasing away any score!! So, the optimism of the young
Bloods was evident on that decision itself..

After starting slowly India were precariously placed at 48-2 in 9 overs. Then, Yuvi and Uthappa staged a massive assault on the Australian fast bowlers... Yuvi continued from where he had left in the last match by bludgeoning the balls out of the ground on many occasions and incidentally setting a new record for the longest 6 in 20-20 by sending a towering six of Lee to a whopping 119m.. Then hitting 5 more to the fence and 5 more over it, Yuvi reached his 50 of 20 balls and continued in his barbarian mood... Meanwhile Uthappa joined the party by sending 2 of them out of the ground and eventually got out trying for the 3rd!!! Dhoni joined forces with Yuvi and continued at a rapid pace to post a competitive 188-5 in 20 overs...

Hayden and Gilly set the Aussie juggernaut rolling by targeting RP singh... But sreesanth stemmed the flow by castling Gilly with his pin point accurate bowling!!! Oh man!! What a wicket!!! Then, Hodge was snared by Pathan and now 2 monsters Hayden and Symonds started the Aussie charge!!! Hayden carting away 6's and symonds treating the bowlers with disdain... Hayden was hitting in such a way that even Boycott's mother would have gone for 36 runs in an over!!! So, a great piece of captaincy by Dhoni eventually got Hayden... Sreesanth was brought back into the attack and he sent hayden's stumps cartwheeling!!! Animated as ever before, Team india started to celebrate!!! Some stingy bowling by Bajji, Pathan and RP stemmed the flow of runs and eventually Aussies were running out of steam after losing Symonds and Clarke!!! But Hussey was still there... Last over 22 runs needed and in walked Joginder to bowl the last one!!! The first 2 balls were dot balls which eventually made Hussey meow like a pussy and pressure took toll on him as he skied the 3rd to Yuvi and long on to start an animated celebration by the ever so calm Yuvi!!! And Sharma completed the proceedings by castling Lee and India had emerged victorious by 15runs!!! They had made the Aussies eat humble Pie much to the delight of the whole of the cricketing fraternity!!!

So, India after beating Pakistan, South Africa and Australia start as favorites against arch rivals Pakistan as the Raging Bulls of India lock horns in the finals against the Angry bisons Pakistan!!! Both teams equally matched in talent and power!!! India have never lost to Pakistan in the history of World Cups... Will the jinx be broken by the Pakistanis or will India emerge Victrious again!!! Pradarshini - 07 --> Part 2...

Saturday morning.. Me was getting ready for St.josephs to bag some more as there were 3 symposiums there. MCA, Mech and ECE.. But I wasnt in a mood to go to st.josephs but due to Mahesh insisting me, I got ready. But boobu called me and told that we could participate only in ECE symposium and only dumbc was there in that symposium and the prize money was around 750 bucks... So, We decided to go to Pradarshini 07, the COLORFUL KMC culturals where we had already created some fans for ourselves by getting 2nd prize in Ad-zap.. I still couldnt find who the 2 gals were, who were waving from the crowd at me and raja... We were even more pleased bcoz of the fact that the SRM team shouted our college names when the judges asked who were gonna be awarded the 1st prize in Ad-zap.. So, this was Dumb-c time in KMC and both of our teams qualified for the finals easily without much fuss... In the finals, we were joined by 3 gals' team on the dias... The other 3 teams were, 2 teams from Ethiraj college for women(COLORFUL) and 1 more gals team from St.Josephs(Whoa!!!)... After some 5 gruelling rounds of dumbc, both of our teams were tied at first place... The tie-breaker was eventually won by our team. We beat Samba team by just 0.5secs... One of the ethiraj college teams was placed 3rd... The guys who conducted asked how we did this stuff at ease and we told them some of the ways that we do this.. They were astonished and asked us to try at IIT(???!!!??)... One of the gals team congratulated meself and samba... So, though the prize money was less, we had atleast become famous and stamped our authority as one of the best Dumb-c teams in TN... This statement was eventually said by Bala... So, a gud day came to an end with the variety show... The 3 teams which eventually rocked were Crescent, SRM and Pachayappas... So, dunno who won it.. Cos we dint stay till the end... But, as usual, was a pretty much COLORFUL day indeed!!! Pradarshini 07 rocked!!!

Jet Sigma-->Its Different!!!

We had just won the Dumb-c in jet sigma, the math symposium in St.Josephs... The feeling was absolutely great!!! Because we had won in a QUALITY Dumb-c competition after a long time... We are thankful to the staffs for allowing us into the finals though we were very late for the event.. And the 3 rounds were simply amazing and wasnt just the usual Miming and guessing but also involved the use of our usually IDLEBRAINS... 1st Round: 2 questions with 4 choices each in which 2 choices are right and the other 2 arent... The mimer has to choose the 2 right answers for each questions and that makes it a total of 4 words to mime.. He has to mime those 4 words and if indeed they are the right answers, then 5 points to each right answer... Both of our teams performed better than the others in this round..
2nd round: In the second round came the interesting part... 12 videos in which each video contains the mathematical words which are mimed out by the College guys itself.. We have to guess the words correctly.. Another test for our Brains.. We did well in this round too.. Final round: We get 4 words to find and after finding all 4, we have to find a wonder hidden in those 4 words... This was also a very different round... Overall, it rocked!!! With Samba+MAhesh+Raja finishing 1st winning Rs.2100 and meself+Babbu+Boobu finishing 2nd winning Rs.1500... The staffs were really amazed at the way we found the words and lauded us and also thanked us... Overall, a perfect symposium and hats off to the Maths dept and those of whom worked for this....

P'darshini Totally Rocked!!!

Well.. This title is just to confuse the readers at the start... Cos there is a Priyadarshini a.k.a Diamondbabu a.k.a If-else in our dept who happens to be a gud friend of mine... But, this caption really doesnt mean that... Well... This is actually PRADARSHINI 07--> The KMC culturals... Which we happened to attend today... Today we had justa one event and that was Adzap.. This was a test for our talents... As, there were around 15 very good teams cos this was a culturals in which all streams are allowed... Engg, Arts and medical... So, it was gonna be a tough job for us... And the main reason why I said Pradarshini rocked was not because we did well in Ad-zap but bcoz of the amazing Colors that we happened to encounter!!! I hope what u think when i said color.. Color means super color!!! And coming to the ending!! We won 2nd place in Ad-zap bcos of that Judge, Yoyo... Ponnungalukku prize kuduthutan... Although we expected this... Cos, we thought We were the Best today... So... The positives of the Day were, Pradarshini colors and 2nd prize in Ad-zap...

Happenings around me...

Its been a while since I whiled away time rather than listening in class. Atleast I was understanding sumthing in class rather than nothing.. And, today it all ended, courtesy: Babbu who got hold of this game called BINGO... And after lunch, we had started playing it with such interests.. Meself, kudi(Bloody), Raja and Dhadi were playing in one bench. While Babbu, sano, Samba and Mahesh were playing in the other... So, the game was so absorbing that we completely lost our thoughts that a class was going on after all... We started playing it by 12.30pm IST and played the whole of TQM hour amidst getting scoldings from the lecturer then continued the same in the next C# hour... At around 1.45pm, terror struck when the ever enthusiastic Samba was caught playing the game.. Instantly, the whole bench was caught. Kudi loose enna pannaannu therla, he was also caught and bcoz of Babbu meself and Raja were also caught... Dhadi was the only one who escaped... Bcoz we dint pottu kuduthufy him just like him... After that whatever happened was complete terror!!! To be continued...

Pakistan pulverises Lanka!!!

This was the news that made it to the headlines of the newspapers this morning.. Lankans who were roaring like never b4 were bull dozered by the Pakistanis and their roar became a distinct meow... Pakistanis who were wounded tigers came back strongly and defeated the in-form lankans pretty comprehensively. Hope India takes in something from them and comes up with a blistering performance today... Eagerly waiting for the Indians to come back strongly after the blemish against Kiwis...

When, the whole of India were chanting "Chak De India", especially after that win over Pakistan, all including me would have thought India had a fat chance at this 20-20 World cup even though it wasnt a powerful team... But, India proved the critics wrong by losing by 10 runs against the Kiwis.. Kiwis chakked down India in style and I still am searching for the reason as to why Yousuf Pathan wasnt included in the match and why is Agarkar still being persisted with.. I hope India rectify this soon and Chuck out Agarkar and include Yousuf as he is an all rounder... All the best for Team India's today's venture...

I hope you all must have heard of the 3 musketeers... Well.. This post is on the 2 musketeers in our group... Well... U cant guess it that easily... Bcoz, they are the 2 intellects in our group.. No.. It isnt mahesh or babbu or raja... Shit!! Never Samba... Well.. They are Prasi and Kavin of course... When i thought of writing a general post, the first thing that striked me was these 2 galz... Bcoz of d simple reason that i had just visited kudi's blog.. So, I thought of kalaasifying them, for a change.. in ma blog... Well.. to start with, these are 2 most comical characters in our group.. especially Kapathu... Her ultimate facial reactions always carries everyone into peals or fits or wtever maximum length of Laughter... U can check out her reactions at www.sathukudi.blogspot.com... She is like a baby in our group.. Edhuvume theriyadhu aana ellathukkum sirichitte iruppa... Always on the receiving end of Samba and Mahesh's vicious blows... Next in line is prasi... Well... She is one of my teasing victims... Bcoz iva seyyara velai ellam adhu maaridhaan irukkum... For eg: If u buy 10 chocolates, u will find the first 6 and the last 4 chocolates in her mouth... And same thing stands for the chips and snacks too... She is the first to gobble it up.. Ennavo, kudi birthdayla mattum romba kammiya dhaan saapta... Ivala kalaasitte irundha time poradhe theriyadhu... Friends of prasi... Try this... U can enjoy to d core when she is there... So, these 2 musketeers have recently made the birthday blasts even more hilarious... Never to forget the incident in babbu's b'day when kavin broke the candle into 2 by just using her single finger.. Lack of OD's costing dearly...

This semester has been one of the driest symposium seasons that we have ever had.. Last year, we were on a roll in all colleges... And we were rocking in all departments symposiums in all colleges... We kept winning in Adzap, Dumbc and Quiz... And We also did that with the help of a lot of OD's given by our HOD... But, due to sum reasons, we arent getting the OD's that we expected to get... In fact we have stopped getting OD's after attending just 4 colleges.. But can anything stop us?? No... This time, we are risking our engg by attending all colleges on leave... A leave costs us Rs.25 but v arent much bothered... But, the problem is that we arent getting theamount tht we usually get.. So, atleast i hope tmrw we get sum cash in our pockets in Eupraxia07 which was our biggest money spinner last year...

India Vs Pakistan --> Another thriller!!!

It was september 14th... The 10th match of the inaugural 20-20 World cup andwhat more do you expect than a fully packed house for the match between the Arch rivals India and Pakistan... Now, India were playing their 1st match of the World Cup since their match against Scotland was washed out.. India had to win this match in order to make it to the Super-8... India were facing a big task ahead.. The main reasons being:
1) Absence of the big trio of Sachin, Sourav and Dravid...
2) Team captained for the 1st time by Dhoni..
3) It was a FRIDAY and friday is deemed to be a lucky day for Pakistan... And indeed, Pakistan have lived upto to that hype.. ie they win most of their matches that are played on fridays..
Although some points showed that India would win the match... which were:
1) India boasted of a good batting line up with youngsters like Karthik, Uthappa doing well in odi's.
2) Sehwag and Harbhajan were back into the side.. This would add a bit of strength into the team..
3) INDIA HAD NEVER EVER LOST TO PAKISTAN IN A WORLD CUP since its inception in 1975...
So, all set for the match...

The Epic begins...

So, all set for the biggest match of this 20-20 World Cup.. Malik won the toss and put India into bat... Mohammad Asif bowled brilliantly and took 4 quick wickets and within 6 overs, India were tottering at 36-4... Uthappa joined by Dhoni put on a good partnership.. Uthappa scored 50 off 39 balls and was out... Dhoni joined the tailenders and pushed India's score to 141-9 in 20 overs... Pathan did a cameo of 20 from 15 balls including 2 consecutive 6's off Afridi before eventually getting out trying for the 3rd... So, was this score enough???
Pakistan started pretty shakily as well... Some accurate bowling by RP and Sreesanth caused some damage in the Pakistani ranks.. Wickets were falling at regular intervals and there came a situation where Pakistan needed some 40 odd runs in 3 overs... Misba-ul-haq and Arafat flayed the Indian bowling attack to all parts of the ground.. And when Agarkar went for 17 runs of the penultimate over, it looked as if Pakistan would get through... 12 runs needed of the last over... In came Sreesanth to bowl the last over...
1st ball -> Arafat hits a single...
2nd ball -> Misbah hammers the ball over covers for a one bounce four!!! Gr8 shot!!!
3rd ball -> 2 runs to long on... So, 5 runs needed from 3 balls...
4th ball -> 4 more!!! Misbah drives past midoff!!! Sexy shot!!! 1 run needed from 2 balls...
5th ball -> A very important dot ball just around the off stump beating the batsman...
6th ball -> A bouncer on the ribs and Misbah tries to run for a single.. Yuvi is faster and throws the ball at Sreesanth who removes the bails in a flash... Misbah is run out!! And ITS A TIE!!!!!

So.. That makes history of sorts in international cricket where for the first time, a BOWLOUT is gonna decide the match... Bowlout is a situation where each team selects 5 bowlers to bowl at the stumps.. A hit gives a point and a miss doesnt.. Similar to penalty shootout in Futbal... So, India's 5 bowlers are Sehwag, Harbhajan, Uthappa, Sreesanth and Pathan... And Pakistan's 5 bowlers are Arafat, Gul, Afridi, Tanvir and Asif... Malik again won the toss and asked India to start the bowlout...

Bowlout:
Sehwag comes in to bowl... His normal run up and hits!!!!!
Arafat comes in.. Bowling in a shorter run up goes for a full toss... But misses it!!!
So, its 1-0 to India...
Bajji comes in next... Bowls straight and hits the leg stump!!! Celebrates like he has got a wicket!!!
Umar gul.. Again a shortened run up... Bowls and its outside the off stump.. He has missed it!!!
2-0 to India!!!
Uthappa comes in next... We havent seen him bowl.. Wonder what will happen.. Is he the right person to do the job?? He comes in... And BINGO!!! Gud action and a gud bowling indeed... And he bows to the crowd!!! He is starting to become a youth icon of sorts...
Afridi walks in... Bowls a leg break and whoa!!! Thats dreadfully down the leg side!! Missed out by quite a few inches!!
India has won it!! 3-0!!!!!
And the points that must come to your notice!!!
India keeps up the reputation of being unbeaten in World cups against Pakistan..
More importantly.. Friday is a lucky day for Pakistan.. Wondering why they lost!!! Friday was over and the latter part of the innings and the Bowlout were in fact on a saturday morning.. The match ended at 1.30am on saturday!!! So, India did it!!! Not to take anything from them.. They fielded brilliantly... Pathan and uthappa rocked the day... But the man of the match!!! was Mohammad Asif... Hope you enjoyed the post... Will blog about any other interesting 20-20 match if it so happens... Kudos!!!

Kalaignar TV is alive!!!

At last, the long wait for another stupid tamil channel is over. Its september 15th and its Vinayakar chaturthi and Kalaignar TV is officially open.. Same fucking, stupid programmes... Patti manrams, Songs, ungal choice,... And hold on!! I thought this one was gonna be soap free.. But to ma utmost disdain, it isnt.. I think its the repeat telecast of Suntv... Similar programmes... The only satisfying thing about Kalaignar tv is that 2 new films, Mozhi and Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi are gonna be aired today... So, saying that Tamilnadu will never improve on its class of TV programmes, and in a relief that I have atleast got a general post so that I can type in my next sponsored post which I have got just now...

A flurry of happy moments!!!

First of all, Happy Vinayaka Chaturthi to all.. Ganapathy bappa morya, Mangal moorthi vinayaka!!! Today, the september 15th, 2007, the day which started right through out in happiness.. I was watching the match yesterday between India and Pakistan.. Was praying for an Indian win!! India needed to maintain their unbeaten record in World cups against arch rivals, Pakistan.. And eventually, the match ended this morning at around 1.30am with India stamping their class by beating Pakistan once again in World Cup.. But this time in the 20-20 version.. So, u know the victory margin?? Well,... India beat Pakistan 3-0... Will explain the match in the next post.. So, that was one happy moment when the Indians celebrated their victory!!! And at around 12.30 am, I received a call from my Periyamma and as I was in the flat alone, I got to get the first news!! That My dear Brother had become a father of a baby girl... I went downstairs and told my grandies and my aunt and uncle... Meanwhile, they were so excited that I sneaked through and switched on my PC and came online to find a $5 post in blogitive... After reserving it, I came back to my flat to finish the match which was by then heading for a humdinger!! And finally at around, 1.45am, Babbu called up and asked about the match.. I asked him where he was.. Wonder what was the answer??? Well... He was laying roads with the rest of his friends in Thiruvanmiyur... Now, this is what I call Power of Youth!!! Was happy that he was doing a gud job for the people instead of sleeping.. So, being a youth, we guys too wanna rock by helping others too!!! So, I take this special post in wishing Kudi a advance Happy birthday... His birthday is tomorrow!!! All guys and gals are welcome to his house!!!

Love --> The sweetest poison...

Now this is one feeling where most of the people of both sexes have various contradictions on.. Ask some of d gals in ma class and they will say, Love is something idiotic and a complete waste of time… While ask sum guys from ma class particularly, ma friends, they would say, Love is a gr8 feeling.. Its actually a philosophy… Love is beautiful.. Love is amazing… But what I feel is that The arrow of cupid at all times leads to ultimate enjoyment although in sum cases, it may lead to disaster.. It all depends on the man/woman u choose to love… Here, when I mean Love, I wanna tell u all that this isn’t the Mother’s luv, neither is this a son/daughter’s luv, neither is it the brotherly/sisterly luv.. PPP rocks forever..

To say about PayPerPost, its one of the best things to have happened in my blogging life because of my friend Babbu. Birthday bashhh... At Jaya's...

It was a hot sunday morning when I remembered that it was Jaya's b'day bcoz she had called us for lunch the previous day and the previous, in fact, for the past week or so. After wishing her a happy b'day, meself and Raja started at around 12pm to her house, since she had told us to be there a bit late as she had gone to perform Abhishekam @ temple of Shri Shirdi Saibaba @ Mylapore. So, we started to samba's house instead bcoz the fact was that Raja dint know jaya's house and I dint know either of those. We reached Samba's and found Mahesh as expected having a short nap and Ananth(Samba bro) and Mr.Kudi(Viral Pyrexia) and who else but Samba. Then, in a few minutes time, we were joined by She who must not be named. Then, Jaya called Samba and scowled over the phone to come to her house immediately. Then, we started to Jaya's house which in the next street. Then, when we entered we found Babbu and Sid who were devouring on some chocolates. Then, we too started eating some chocolates. Although none could beat She who must not be named in eating chocolates. Not only chocolates but anything and everything. In a few minutes time, we were joined by Ragha and KPT. Whatever happened after that, you can get to know by visiting here. Next week its gonna get bigger and better with Kudi's b'day coming up. So, be there this weekend @ Nanganallur Kudi's house for some extremely yummy, delicious delicacies to be made by ???!!!???!!!... Lets wait and watch.. Come and enjoy!!!

Cricket at a faster pace!!!

Tomorrow, 11th september 2007, a cricketing history of sorts will be made in Johannesburg, South Africa when West Indies and host nation South Africa lock horns to play the first match in the first ever twenty-20 World Cup... The warm-ups have already caused a few surprises, with minnows Kenya defeating lions Bangladesh and the Proteas getting the better of the Aussies.. Pakistan has been the team to watch out for although the team's internal state is pathetic with the ban on Shoaib Akhtar... I personally felt that Australia doesnt have much chance in this 20-20 World cup.. They just dont seem to understand the whole concept behind this.. Just a one change in the team to that of the odi team reflects the state of the champions.. The 20-20 is the game for youngsters.. India rightly have sent a young team to Africa.. I feel that this would encourage the talents and would help to dig out some new hidden talents in the team... All the best for the Indian team... The fixtures of the 20-20 World Cup are as follows..

Umpiring sucks!!!

Its happened once.. Its happened twice.. And its happening again and again.. For whom?? None but to the God of Cricket!!! Sachin Tendulkar!!! He was a victim of wrong decisions in the test series and now again thrice, in the odi series, he has been a victim of Bad decisions.. I don’t understand why so many bad decisions are being made now-a-days… The umpiring standards are at its worst possible status and umpires like Aleem Dar are useless for Cricket.. I mean how can an umpire give 2 wrong decisions in the same match???!!! That too with the 2 batsmen being Sachin and Dravid.. And this maybe the reason for India losing the series against England at Lords… I hope ICC appoints better umpires and also scraps away money for the umpire who gives wrong decisions…

As of now, the match fee for these fucking umpires are $7300 for each test and $3000 for each odi. The following must be the revised match fees for umpires:

1.ODI à $3000

2.Testsà $7000

And most importantly, for each wrong decision in tests, they should be penalized $250 per wicket and for odi $100 per wicket.. So, atleast they will pay more attention in umpiring bcoz itz d money that they are losing… So, Lets put our hands against these idiotic umpires.. ICC can choose one of the 2 possible remedies…

1) Use technology for umpiring

2) Put forth the above type of rules.
The umpires with the most poor umpiring decisions to their credits are:
Aleem Dar, Darrel Hair, Steve Bucknor(nowadays), Billy Bowden(sumtimes), Ian Howell and d list goes on.. If they persist doing the same thing, then its very very unfair on blaming the players. Hope the ICC takes some actions on Aleem Dar for now..

Gr8 match!!

Yesterday i was able to witness one of the greatest match ever. Sachin, Ganguly and Uthappa scripted a menacing and nailbiting win for India against england to level the series 3-3 with the final showdown at lords coming up on 8th of september. Sachin missed yet another century but won the man of the match. Hope he breaks the jinx in the final match at lords.

Winning ways!!!

Back to winning ways.. So, meself back to winning ways finally after winning prizes in crescent engg college and gkm college of engg.. So, me in a happy state now.. After a long time we are back into winning ways just bcoz of the simple reason that we werent frequenting symposiums as we had been before... So, its happy that we are back in the hunt and want to aim for more...

Well.. This story of the film Ammuvagiya Naan revolves around the life of a sex worker Ammu who incidentally is married by Parthiban(Gowrishankar) who happens to be a famous writer. The writer is famous for his various controversial novels but unfortunately, he is denied the coveted best writer for 3 consecutive years.. So, he is determined to lay hands upon that award and so decides that the life of a sex worker would be his next novel's theme. I usually dont tell the story of the films in my review.. So, I have just given a gist of the theme of the film..
This film rocks in the first scene itself.. Rocks in the sense, not the Sivaji type of rock but a different way.. Ammu, an 8yr old girl who happens to be the daughter of a prostitute stands along with several other pros.. I think it stings me to use the word again and again.. So, i'll use pros in short.. 4 men come there and select the 4 women pros and go to their respective OFFICE rooms.. Then, Ammu asks her mom, " AMMA!! Avanga ellam mattum velayadaraanga.. Naan avangala madhri eppo ma velayadardhu??" Mom's reply," Neeyum periyavalaanadhum andha velayaatta velayadalam!!." Aaha... Scintillating start to the film, I thought.. I mean idhu allava Thaai paasam!!! Next scene, I see a girl who is being chased by some children.. But I cannot see the face of that girl.. All I can see is the BACK view of the girl... An exclamation by Raja here... Wonder what he saw!!! Then, she keeps on running, running(All back view only).. And suddenly, we come to know that she is the heroine of the film.. Ammu... A song depicting that she has come of age... And the next scene, the girl is ready to play the GAME!!! An auction for that girl.. And a 60yr old man gets the One-night stand with her for 1lac INR... Ammu doesnt know anything about the rules of the game sadly... The old man starts off the game by asking Ammu to do skipping... And some camera work here... A censor here over the camera man's work... The ups and downs of life of that girl Ammu, is being enjoyed by the man.. Then, some ice work over her navel and some wine over her body, and she starts to scream.. The other pros come to Ammu's rescue and bash the old man up... Whoa!! I thot I was writing a review but instead writing the whole film.. Sheesh!!! So, I would change my theme.. Instead of writing a review, I will write some of the greatest dialogues in the film... Parthiban goes to that holy place with his friend.. He sees Ammu there... Her Aanmeegam makes him drool over her... time for another picture...
Well!! I hope that picture depicts the role of the heroine Ammu in the film pretty well... Then comes a song where they both starr... The song is A/A and the saddest thing here is that Ammu gets to wear only the tops and not the bottoms!!! Romba low budget padam pola??? Parthiban proposes to marry her.. But she refuses saying some really valid reasons... Next punch dialogue coming up... Abishek(of kolangal fame) spends a night with Ammu... At that time, he pours ice cream on her and says
"Ammu... Naan unakkum ICE vekkaren nu thappa nenakkadhe.. Nee romba azhaga irukke.. Naan unna vechukkava??" Ammu throws that piece of ice cream on his face and replies, " Naan Ice a thatti vittutennu thappa nenaikkadhe.. Enna kattikkave aal irukku"... Semma punch ma.. The film started and within one hour, it was intermission time... RAJA's dialogue during intermission, "Ennangada idhu??? Vandhanga.. Kiss adichaanga... Katti pidichaanga.. Matter pottanga.. Interval vittutaanga.. Enna padam da idhu" This dialogue in itself proved the class of the film... Adhavudhu, oru tea-glass ku kooda prayojanam illadaha first half... Atleast, second half aavudhu nalla irukkumnu paatha adhu innoru kodumai...
Adhuthu punch dialogue endha scene nu pictura paathale therinjurkumnu nenaikaren.. Parthiban marries Ammu and its the first night scene... Ammu asks him about the decorations.. He tells her that its the first night.. At that time, another punch yet sentimental dialogue from Ammu, " Enakku first nighta?? Naan idhu varikkum aambalainga illama night spend pannadhe kedayadhu..." Parthiban's reply, " Adhnaala dhaan first nightnu sonnen... Nee nalla nimmadhiya thoongara first night idhu dhaan.. Adha thaan sonnen..." Aaha... Enna sentimant pa!!! Pullarikkudhu!!! Next, dialogue.. Parthiban is typing the story of his book, Ammuvagiya Naan in his old type-writer.. Ammu comes and asks about the type-writer... He tells him that its his mom's and that it was the reason how, she earned money and which eventually led to his successful stint... The dialogue ," Ella veetlayum, pullaingala avanga amma appa adichu valappanga... Aana idha(type-writer) adichu dhaan enga amma enna valathaanga"... Sentimentaam la!!! Next, the scene where his friend tries to make parthiban realize the truth... Adhavudhu, Parthiban supports his wife to the fullest extent... At that time, the villain who is no1 but the old man whom we encountered in the first scene, who also happens to be the Akila Ulaga Thamizh Ilakkiya Sanga thalaivar, (Enna Kodumai Saravanan!!!) tells Parthiban that if he wanted to win the award he has to send Ammu for one n8 stand with him.. Parthiban beats him black and blue... The friend then calls him and tells him the dialogue, " Dei.. Naan solradha kaelu da.. Un lakshyam dhaanda unakku mukkiyam... Nee award vaanganum da... Andha Pachai Thev....... kaaga un awarda ezhakanuma?? Yosi da" which is incidentally heard by Ammu herself... Then, the next day, Ammu goes there to fulfil her husband's dream and the villain's hunger... But ends up killing the villain.. And suddenly the next scene was, the awards ceremony, where Parthiban receives the award with his wife... Happy ending!!!Aana kedaisi varikkum Enna solla varaannu dhaan puriyala...

Indha padame oru periya Negative dhaan... Worstest ever!!! The film has no story.. No base... Just another skin show... Disappointment that Parthiban who has acted in many good films like housefull, Kudaikul mazhai etc has acted in such a worst film...
